The day after Christmas we headed out to the Lily Lake are of the Uintas for a couple night stay in a yurt!. We stayed a total of two nights – one by ourselves, and the next night the Marsh’s came out for two nights of their own. The weather was pretty amazing, with a lot of snow – fresh snow the first day/night, and sunny the next.
The kids were on cross country gear for the first time and did amazingly well. Both were coordinated and fast, although it was pretty entertaining watching them try to duck walk up the steeper hills. I remember having trouble myself as a kid – long skis and tripping over the backs.
We sledded during the day and took an excursion out to the actual Lily Lake, which was covered and frozen of course. The kids loved playing in the yurt as if it were a fort, hanging out on the bunks and jumping between them. We had a constant fire going in the wood stove and Kari and Casey made some pretty awesome meals. Check out the pics for more.
