While we didn’t expect it to happen quite this soon, Tory got his first set of stitches last Wednesday, the result of him apparently falling and smacking his face on the side of his bed. I say ‘apparently’ because neither Kari nor I were there to see the initial impact. Later that day he pointed to a spot on his bed, and we’re assuming this is the spot of the foul.
While I didn’t see the fall, I did find a screaming kid with a bloody face and a gash in his lower lip a few seconds later. Kari took him to the clinic after we got the bleeding to stop. He didn’t like that part too much, it seems, so it took about 45 minutes of wrestling him still to get the 8 stitches in. A mere 5 days later they came out, and this time the process went smoother. Of his own volition, the boy gave both the doctor and the nurse a kiss for making the removal process fairly painless.

Ah little duder! Tiss just a flesh wound!
As his shirt so aptly says – He’s a “champ” – What a trooper! – He is still so handsome!….
What a sweetheart (insert more masculine description at your will)…giving kisses to the nurse and doctor. Love that kid.
Yeah, all in all he held up pretty well with it all. Thanks everyone for leaving comments, now I know people actually read it!
