Thanksgiving was spent in Minnesota this year. It was a relatively quick trip, spending a couple of days at each grandparents house. On Thanksgiving day a bunch of the Landgrens came to my folks house, so it was filled to the brim. Very nice to see Grandma Jeane, Bill & Trudy, Tom & Louise, as well as some cousins – Billy, Melissa, Kelley & her boyfriend, Christy, and Joe.
Sarah and Jeff and their new baby Freddie were there too. It was the first time we met the little dude. He’s happy and healthy.
Our time at Pat & Gary’s was also a lot of fun, Tracy had the time off and Jacob came was on break from college in Duluth. The ice was perfect for skating, something that doesn’t happen that often so it was nice to take advantage. We could skate across the entire lake!
Traveling back and forth is always part of the adventure. It takes two days typically, we try to start as early as we can – say 4 or 5 am – to pile on the miles while the kids sleep. We’ll usually stop late afternoon and find a hotel with a pool so we can all chill out. It’s part PITA, part adventure.
