Since the skiing conditions have been less than stellar this winter, we decided to head down to Zion for Presidents weekend with the Lesters. The 70 degree weather was a nice break from the cold, although it hasn’t been all that harsh so far.
The first day we hiked Angels Landing, sort of. The sheer number of people that were lining the last push to the top was stifling so we found our own little hang out where the kids could poke their heads over the edge. The 1000 foot drop makes my stomach churn a bit but they couldn’t get enough of it. I was super proud of how well they hiked, it’s a big climb and there wasn’t much complaining, if any.
The next day we ventured to the norther end of the park. We’d never explored the Kolob entrance and it turned out to be quite nice. We chose a hike out to a double alcove, it was an easy rolling hike in the woods, wonderful.
